ENGLISH BOWLING ASSOCIATIONS CHARITY TRUST

42nd Annual General Meeting

September 2021

Chairman’s report.

A second year when the Bowls World has not been able to function as those who have been playing for some time have come to expect. It was good to see clubs opening and competitions up and running albeit with one eye on covid regulations.

The Charity Trust decided against trying to organize the two Annual charity games and also in view of the vast changes to the National Championships, it was decided not to hold our usual bucket collections at Leamington. It is hoped that a charity game can be held outdoors in 2022 and maybe Indoors during the winter 2022/3.

We have continued to receive donations in memory of bowlers who have died.

We have also continued to receive applications for assistance and after a review of each case have been glad to make several grants during the year.

We would ask that Counties, Clubs and Officers remember the Charity Trust when donating funds to good causes, the Trust has and does help Bowlers who are in need of financial assistance through ill-health or disability.

Finally, this year Trustee John Tolley, Past President of the EBA, who has been a Trustee for many years has decided to retire and the Trust thanks him for all his work on their behalf. We hope to appoint his replacement at the Annual General Meeting which for the second year will be held by Zoom in late September.
